Stinson AT-19

The AT-19 was a military trainer version of the commercial Stinson Reliant, a high-wing 4 to 5 seat utility monoplane.  The UC-81 was a utility cargo version of the same aircraft.  Per reference [8] the initial variant of the Reliant (called the SR) took its 1st flight in 1933, with the 1st commerical variant called the SR-10 having its 1st flight in 1938 and the 1st militarized version of the plane took flgiht in February 1942.  A total of 1,327 of all types of this aircraft were built with units serving in the armed forces of the United States, the United Kingdom, Argentina, Uraguay, and with at least one aircraft also having served with the armed forces of Austrailia.

In order to try and better develop weight estimating relationships an effort has been made to estimate the length of the fuselage aft of the firewall, and the length of the engine section forward of the firewall based off scaled drawings.  Together these two distances add to a term called the "structural length" and do not consider any portion of the engine or propeller shaft the extend foward of the fuselage/cowling, or any empennage that extends aft of the fuselage structure.  The drawing below shows the current best estimate of these dimensions obtained from available drawings of the airplane and will be updated with any real world data that becomes available.  For any aircraft with an inclined firewall, an attempt has been made to locate an approximate center of this location.
